Hard-Bop Fever quintet
Riccardo Del Fra reunites a quintet for this evening, bringing together several generations of soloists. Together, they breathe new life into the hard bop repertoire of the 1960s and 70s, which is all too rarely rediscovered. They perform compositions by Horace Silver, Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, Clifford Brown, Benny Golson, Wayne Shorter, the Adderley brothers, and Joe Henderson—musicians who have left their mark on the history of jazz and whom Riccardo Del Fra honors here.
